Coaching
Business Executives, It Works!
Business coaching can be done in several formats. I provide
individual success coaching
- face-to-face,
- by telephone,
- through email.
Most clients have found
their preferred method for working together
is by telephone. I am committed to what works for clients.
A blend of methods has worked for other coaching clients.
Some
Mechanics
On
an individual basis and initially, I will schedule a time
with a new client once a week. After a three month period
that I call, "the up to speed phase," individual
session time can be further adjusted to fit client needs.
The first three months are intense. During the first months
of individual coaching, calls are scheduled for a unique time
slot, for about a half hour, once a week and, depending on
the needs of the individual client. Calls are coupled with
email and "quick hit" calls.
A "quick hit" call is initiated by the client. I
will take it if I'm not working with another client. If I'm
not available, then I'll expect to receive the client's email.
I'll call you to discuss the "quick hit" topic.
The email outlines the "quick hit" topic.
The outline is a bullet point listing of the central issue(s)
and elements of the thought process followed up to call time.
Although I ask for a tentative conclusion, that is not necessary
where a conclusion has not been reached. This contact is between
scheduled coaching calls and it strengthens the communication
between us. The email allows me to review projects, proposals
and progress, and to provide prompt responses to specific
questions. It also functions as a sounding board between colleagues.
Getting Your Act Together
Goal
achievement takes a bit of time to develop. While a client
is frequently intent on the achievement of an objective, the
foundation for that achievement may not be as sound as will
be required to sustain it. By relying on experience and training,
I work with the client in developing or reinforcing h/er/is
personal foundation. This may take some time, and has been
shown to sustain the gains toward a goal made through the
work that runs parallel to it.
Since both client and coach are engaged in what has come to
be called an interdevelopmental
relationship, both parties are growing in the context of the
coaching arrangement.
Email or Instant Message response can also be built into the
professional service agreement. |
